PV2 Andrew Deyo

I had the honor and privilege to make a portrait for PV2 Andrew Deyo of Catskill, NY. Andrew is home for a few days after completing basic training at Fort Benning, GA, https://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/.
He'll be shipping out in a few days to Washington, DC where he will begin his three year duty with The Old Guard. This is an elite group of the US Army which serves as Escort to the President or Presidential Guard. For more information on this, visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3rd_United_States_Infantry_Regiment_(TOG)

Congratulations Pvt. Deyo for being chosen for such an honor.

Thankyou for doing this portrait of my son, and for recognizing his accomplishment. I am extremely proud of what he has done and who he has become.
He has a bright future ahead of him, he has earned this position. His graduation from Basic Training was a very moving experience. He has grown into a fine man.
He left today at 12:30pm from the Hudson train station, saying goodbye for now. As we waved goodbye, a tear came to my eye, and my heart was overjoyed,-- with the confidence that he will do his absolute best to gain an honest pride in himself.

Thankyou for taking the time to do this for my son. I posted a comment a few weeks ago, and it must not of taken.
Well, updated info on PVT Andrew- He has settled in Washington D.C for training on the OLD GUARD, He is going to start classes in the fall as well through the GI Bill, and he is considering to go airbourne.
I am and so is his family, very proud of his accomplishment, he has chose something that will give him a sense of pride. I am forever pleased with him and he says that he is happy with his choice.
I have submitted his picture into the Daily Mail for a book, (sorry do not know the name of it yet) that is being created for this area. So look for him in this, it will be available at the Daily Mail site on Main Street in Catskill.
